Energizing Performance
The all-electric drivetrain in the S6 Sportback e-tron includes a 100 kWh battery pack and a pair of electric motors, with quattro® all-wheel drive coming standard. Power is delivered with a rear-bias for better performance handling, and the system total is 496 horsepower under normal conditions. But when you’re looking for some extra speed, you can activate Launch Mode to turn the output up to 543 horsepower, which makes the 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds possible. That makes the S Sportback e-tron more powerful and quicker to 60 than its gasoline counterpart, to say nothing of the other sedans in this segment. When the road gets twisty, the standard sport adaptive air suspension keeps the grip superb, and the body roll to a minimum, all while giving you a smooth and comfortable ride while cruising. The S6 Sportback e-tron has a maximum range of 324 miles, far more than competing electric sports sedans, just one benefit of that advanced drivetrain tech. Charging is another benefit, since Audi’s 800-volt architecture allows for 270 kW charging, meaning the S6 Sportback e-tron can charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes on a DC fast charger.
Luxury Interior
A good sports sedan needs to be more than just fast; it needs to be comfortable, too. That’s why the S6 Sportback e-tron comes with features like standard Nappa leather seats with heating and ventilation in the front and available heating for the back. The three-zone climate control system includes a heat pump to maximize efficiency, and cabin preconditioning is standard. The cabin is exceptionally quiet, partly because of the electric drivetrain, but the S6 Sportback is one of the most aerodynamic vehicles Audi has ever produced, and the accompanying lack of wind noise is always appreciated. Even the doors are available with power soft closing. All of this helps you better hear the available 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen® sound system with 3D sound and front headrest speakers. While the interior is similar to the more mainstream A6 Sportback e-tron, the S version has several unique touches to let you know you’re looking at the performance model. This includes features like sport seats, sport pedals, and a steering wheel with a flat top and bottom.
Incredible Technology
Not all of the advanced technology of the S6 Sportback e-tron is for going fast, quite a few aspects of the car benefit from Audi’s tech-forward approach. Even the panoramic glass roof incorporates polymer-dispersed liquid crystal technology, so you can change it from transparent to opaque, or select certain of the nine segments to change for partial shade. Audi has always been a leader in exterior lighting technology, and the available digital OLED taillights are one more example of this. The headlights also offer nine additional options for daytime running light signatures. Since nobody wants to take their eyes off the road during spirited driving, the available head-up display uses augmented reality technology to cut down on the need to look down at the driver’s display. To help with this more, there is an available passenger-side touchscreen, so your dinner companion can find the right music or pick out the restaurant while you focus on driving.
