What the Critics Say
"Handling is sharp by big-sedan standards, and the S8 offers more driving enjoyment than rivals such as the BMW 7-series and the Maserati Quattroporte. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with plentiful standard tech and luxury features including available massaging seats and enough screens to keep everyone entertained for long drives." - Car and Driver
"But despite carrying 56 percent of its weight over the front axle, the S8 turns in nicely, and the sport diff ensures the rear wheels get maximum torque to the tarmac. This is a big sedan that is calm and fast, confident and comfortable, the sort of car you could happily hustle 600 miles through the Rockies in a day and step out at the end of it feeling relaxed." - MotorTrend
What's New for 2025
While minor in nature, there are still a variety of exciting updates to the thrilling Audi S8 for the 2025 model year. Luxury package trims now come standard with Digital Matrix-design LED headlights, Matrix LED rear reading lights, massaging and ventilated rear outboard seats, and the rear seat remote control.

Audi S8 vs Mercedes-Benz S-Class
To demonstrate the excellence represented by the Audi S8, let's take a closer look at how it fares against one of the world's most recognizable full-size luxury sedans - the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Although the S8 begins this matchup with a slightly higher price tag, further inspection reveals that choosing Audi over the Mercedes-Benz S-Class actually proves to be the smarter decision.
When it comes to performance, the S-Class is simply no match for the S8. The Audi S8 is equipped with a larger twin-turbo V8 that produces more torque, more horsepower, and a shorter 0 to 60 time compared to the tiny 3.0-liter 6-cylinder tasked with moving the full-size S-Class. Similarly, the standard dynamic all-wheel steering system included as standard on the S8 requires you to select a costly standalone option on the S-Class. Larger 20-inch wheels wrapped in performance tires further showcase the race-inspired characteristics you'll enjoy by choosing the S8.
In terms of interior amenities, the Audi S8 continues to shine. Thanks to its standard 22-way power-adjustable driver's seat, you'll have no trouble finding the perfect position behind the wheel. A standard heated steering wheel makes cold winter mornings much more pleasant as well. Other reasons to choose the S8 over the S-Class include its standard 60/40 split rear seatback and greater legroom in both the front and rear of the vehicle.
So you can choose the Mercedes-Benz S-Class to save yourself $9,000 on the day you purchase it, or you can step up to the Audi S8 - and for as long as you own it - enjoy more horsepower, more torque, more speed, more room, more comfort, and more utility. The Audi S8 - way "more" than a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
